The corporate department has a well established client base and acts for a wide range of companies both locally and nationally, including substantial subsidiaries of listed companies, private and family owned companies of all sizes, partnerships, sole traders and unincorporated associations, but offers the same high level of professional service to all clients irrespective of size.

The corporate department makes available a team of individuals on larger transactions, frequently involving solicitors from other departments of the firm.

Our aim is to provide prompt and accurate advice to enable clients to meet their objectives and timetables.

The solicitors in the corporate department have between them broad experience and expertise enabling them to offer clients advice in all aspects of corporate and commercial law including:

• Mergers and acquisitions
• Company sales and disposals
• Management buy-outs and buy-ins
• Corporate Finance
• Joint ventures and partnerships
• Intellectual property (including trademarks, patents and copyright)
• Insolvency
• Company formations, group reconstructions and company secretarial support
• Shareholders' rights and directors' duties and responsibilities
• Commercial trading agreements of all descriptions (including supply and distributorship, agency, manufacturing and franchise agreements and standard terms and conditions of sale
  and purchase)
• All aspects of employment work, an ever increasing area where specialist assistance is now essential including:
  
  Employment issues (including TUPE) arising on a business sale or purchase
  Protection of commercial interests including confidential information, customers and employees
  Preparation of service agreements, contracts of employment, handbooks and employment policies
