    An application by Hutchinson 3G Limited for Planning Permission to install a 25 metre high tower with ancillary equipment in Peterborough, which was granted on appeal, has been referred to the Court of Appeal. A local resident suffering from a rare medical condition that required her to be fed intravenously by an electrical machine was concerned that the base station would interfere with her feeding apparatus.

  • New National Minimum Wage Rates

    The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform has today announced the new rates of the National Minimum Wage to apply from 1 October 2008. For workers aged 22 and over, the rate will rise from the current £5.52 per hour to £5.73; for workers aged 18 – 21 it will rise from £4.60 to £4.77; and for workers aged 16 and 17 it will rise from £3.40 to £3.53.
